How to Use

Answer/Reject Incoming Calls

When another NuPhone user calls you via NuPhone there are a number of options available in respect to responding to the incoming call. You may:

Click on any of the above links to go to an explanation of the option.

Auto Answer
When Auto Answer is selected NuPhone will automatically answer incoming calls (provided Auto Reject is not set for the caller) after approximately one ring. This is useful where, for example, you are working at your desk and expecting a call. To select this option select the Tools drop-down menu of the Client and click on Auto Answer. To disable this function select Tools and click again on Auto Answer. Also refer to Auto Answer Calls Based Upon Caller ID.
NOTE: when set to Auto Answer your NuPhone Client will answer ALL calls irrespective of who the caller may be. Consider carefully if you wish to enable this function.

Auto Answer Calls Based Upon Caller ID
NuPhone can be set to Auto Answer incoming calls based upon who is calling as determined by Caller ID. This is convenient where, for example, you may wish your home PC to automatically answer when you (and only you) call it from work so that you can visually check the house.
To set NuPhone to Auto Answer all calls from a specific user, right click on the desired contact within the Contacts list, select Edit and then set Automatic Call Response to Auto Answer. When set to Auto Answer a small green up-arrow as depicted below is shown over the contact icon. For Auto Answer to function as expected ensure you set My Status to Available. If the desired user is not displayed in your Contacts list, then add them to the list. For details on adding contacts to the list click here.

Manual Answer
To manually answer an incoming call, click on the Accept button within the You Are Being Called dialog box displayed upon receiving an incoming call.

Auto Reject Calls Based Upon Caller ID

NuPhone can be set to Auto Reject incoming calls based upon who is calling as determined by Caller ID. This is convenient where, for example, you are experiencing nuisance calls and do not wish to take calls from a specific user.

To set NuPhone to Auto Reject all calls from a specific user, right click on the desired contact within the Contacts list, select Edit and then set Automatic Call Response to Reject. When set to Reject a small red down-arrow as depicted below is shown below the contact icon.

Manually Reject Incoming Call
You can manually reject an incoming call by clicking the Reject button within the You Are Being Called dialog box displayed upon receiving an incoming call. You can also enter a Reject Message to be sent to the caller when you reject the call by clicking the Reject button.

Auto Response Message
You can define the message that is automatically sent to those callers who call while you have set your Status to Away or Do Not Disturb. To define the Auto Response Message, click on the File menu of the Client, click My Status and enter the desired message into the automatic reject message text box. If you no longer wish to send a message simply delete the text in the Auto Response Message dialog box.

Reject Message
You can define the message you wish to send to those callers whose calls you Reject by clicking the Reject button within the You Are Being Called dialog box displayed upon receiving an incoming call. To define the reject message either:
Click on the File menu of the Client, click My Status and enter the desired message into the manual reject message text box,

or you can enter the reject message text in to the text box of the You Are Being Called notification dialog box displayed when you are being called. You can also select to Save This Message and in doing so the same message is sent to callers whenever you choose to reject an incoming call.
