Video Wizard

Configuring NuPhone with a TV card.
The following documentation describes the configuration steps for setting up a TV card with NuPhones video system. The principles remain the same as installing a video camera or "web cam" regardless of the type of video source device selected. It should be noted that devices such as TV cards present the audio stream as well as the video stream to the system. Normally the video system would not be enabled while the Audio Wizard is running however this will be necessary in order to have sample audio produced by the TV card.

1. Make sure the TV card functions properly (including audio) with the software it was supplied with before attempting to configure it with NuPhone.
   
2. It may be necessary to determine how the TV card presents audio to the system. Please refer to the card manufacturers documentation for this information. Often this is a Line Out from the TV card, which is connected to the Line In on the computers sound device. You will there for need to make sure you select the Line In or "Line" device as the sound input in the Audio Wizard, though no audio will be detected by the wizard as the TV card will not be enabled at this point.
   
3. As a result the Audio Wizard will indicate there is a microphone error. This should be ignored.
   
4. Now complete the Video Wizard making sure video from the TV card can be displayed by NuPhone.
   
5. Open the system audio mixer (double click the volume control in the system tray) and make sure the Line device is not muted, this will allow you to hear the TV cards audio stream when the TV card is enabled. Mute this option again when the configuration is complete.
   
6. Right click on NuPhones video preview window and check Preview Now. Video from the TV card will now be displayed in the preview window and the audio stream should be audible. If it is not then you have selected the wrong sound input source in the Audio Wizard.
   
7. Run the Audio Wizard again with the Preview Now option still enabled. This time when you get to the sound input selection you will hear the audio from the TV card and you will be able to adjust the input volume level.

Ensure that no other program is attempting to use/access the TV card before staring the NuPhone Client software.
During the post installation configuration phase, the Video wizard is presented at the completion of the Audio Training process. It may also be accessed by running NuPhone and selecting Tools -> Video Wizard, when NuPhone is not on a call or in a room.
This wizard ensures the video components of your computer are correctly functioning.
It is essential that you test the TV card and its software before continuing with this wizard.

Camera Selection

1. Select the TV card from the available options displayed in the list box. Once selected the Preview button becomes available.
2. Click Preview to view the image presented by the TV card.
3. The wizard will detect your computers processor speed and display the result. This feature is for optimising the performance of video cameras and therefore has no impact on a TV card.

4. Click the Properties button (above) if you wish to adjust the TV card settings. A Camera Properties window providing controls for the selected video device similar to that depicted below will appear. Make the appropriate adjustments and close the window.
5. Click Next (above) to continue.
